Can someone recommend a good company/person to install wood floors? Right now I have carpet. I also live in a third floor walk up so I am not sure if hauling materials up the stairs affects the price...
I did some other home projects a few years and ago felt like 1) it was hard to find a contractor cause they were all so busy and 2) I paid a premium for the one I did find. Is that still the case now or is there a chance to get a good deal cause contractors are looking for work? Just curious if I have any real negotiating room on a price quote.
Thanks! |

I strongly recommend Heritage Wood Floors, Inc. 301-855-3006 / 888-227-2882. They did my old condo in 2005 and it still looks great. It was a tricky subfloor too. They also did my house in CH - 2 floors & stairs in 2005 aprox. 1400 sq. ft. - select red oak with 3 coats polyurethane, &shoemolding for $9896.00.
They weren't the cheapest, but easily the most experienced and professional. A friend did her condo in the same building with a cheaper company and within months, all the boards were gapping. Heritage keeps their lumber in a temp. control environment which is critical.
Good luck |

I certainly agree with the above recommendation. They are good in wood floors. You can use it without any hesitation.
Good luck!
